Update - From Rackspace:

----------

Date Time: 2026-08-31 04:50:00 |

Details: At 20:00 CDT, as part of the ongoing recovery efforts, our technology partner has successfully resolved the previously identified CRC issue, clearing the remaining blocker to the recovery process. The Metadata Recovery (MDR) process has now been restarted and is actively progressing, with Rackspace teams continuing to closely monitor the recovery.

There is currently no confirmed ETA for completion, as service restoration is dependent on the successful completion of the MDR process. Once storage recovery is complete, Rackspace teams will proceed with the required VMware recovery and service validation activities. We will continue to provide updates as recovery progresses.

Update - Answering a question about cybersecurity - this is NOT a cybersecurity incident - it is NOT a data breach. It is simply hardware failure in the data centre.

Once again: this is NOT a data breach or a cybersecurity incident. Expr3ss! sites have NOT been compromised.

This is hardware failure within the data centre only.
